finally, a good empire
"The shell of this jacket is soft to the hand and very comfortable. The hand and Napoleon pockets are zippered and handy. The cut is generous: I'm 6'1" and athletic, ~ 185 lbs. and the medium fit me better than the large. The selling point on this jacket is the sherpa lining and added insulation features. It's quite warm in moderately cold temps and extremely comfortable: the lining doesn't impair movement like a lot of sherpa lined jackets and the added insulation doesn't make it overly boxy, either. My one complaint is the stand-up collar: I hate them for active wear. They poke at your neck and face when you're doing anything but sitting still. I consider them un-functional for the trail, but you decide. This piece would've gotten 5 * if not for the crappy collar. Otherwise, a great value."
